These hands-on life cycle activities and assessments cover 6 unique life cycles including: the life cycle of a frog, the life cycle of a butterfly, the life cycle of a chicken, the life cycle of a bee, the life cycle of a shark, and the life cycle of a sunflower. This bundle includes differentiated activities which allow students to compare and contrast the life cycles of different organisms in a variety of ways.

This bundle includes:

6 unique life cycle game card sets for center or station time

6 corresponding interactive notebook pages

3 different diagrams and visuals for students to compare and contrast life cycles of various organisms

a life cycle quiz

a comprehensive test

lesson plans with strategies and pacing

answer keys

Interactive Notebook Pages:

Students will learn a little bit about each of the organisms by completing interactive notebook pages. They will begin to discover similarities and differences between the life cycles as they read about the stages of development for each organism.

Game Cards for Centers or Stations:

In this activity, students will practice placing the different stages of growth (birth, growth, reproduction, and death) in order. Each life cycle card set (frog, chicken, butterfly, shark, bee, and sunflower) gives students a visual model to practice comparing similarities and differences between the life cycles. Students can self-check their work with printable answer keys. The cards can be rubber-banded together or kept in a photo box or Ziploc bag and placed in a centers bin. Color and black and white versions are included.

Comparison Diagrams and Visuals:

After students have had time handling the game cards and interactive notebook pages, they will demonstrate their level of comprehension with written and verbal communication. Three differentiated comparison graphics and diagrams have been included so students can synthesize what they have learned about life cycles. Small group and class discussions can be used with these worksheets to further student comprehension.

Assessments:

A quiz and comprehensive test is included with answer keys.
