I admit it...I get giddy when I hear about the discovery of a new species, I've binge-watched science shows on Netflix, and I find myself daydreaming about crystal formation on different substrates....just for fun. Years ago, I decided to embrace my inner science nerd and use it to (hopefully) make a difference in the world.  So, I became a teacher.  That was one of the best decisions I've ever made.  Nothing excites me like seeing my students discover something new in science class.  One of my co-workers refers to me as the real-life Mrs. Frizzle.  I take that as a compliment, even if Mrs. Frizzle had crazy hair and an unpredictable style.  But, maybe that's what makes science so fascinating.  The moment we think we've figured something out in the scientific world, a new discovery is uncovered that puts everything into a different perspective. Science is about exploring, and that's who I am at my core...an explorer.
